Key Responsibilities: 

Planning & Monitoring Process: 

§ Contribute to the development and promotion of the hospital’s general vision, aims and strategic objectives. 

§ Assist the top management in setting & cascading targets on all hospital departments ensuring that all are based on historical data and applicable in regards to medical behavior forecasting.

 § Assist all department heads ,quality assurance; pharmacy, infection control, safety and medical care committees in setting and obtaining objectives for the improvement of the quality of medical care and resource utilization. 

§ Make sure that target and tasks distributed by each line manager to his/her subordinates are compatible with hospital policies& guidelines, overall targets expected by strategic plan, and matches with the core function of each section. 

§ Analyze all services and offers whether running or newly proposed for implementation against the strategic plan and take decisions to support Andalusia brand. 

§ Review progress and activity reports delivered by all hospital managers or staff members, assess effectiveness of operations and actions taken, and determine the need for improvement and corrective actions accordingly. 

§ Evaluate the performance of hospitals’ department heads on a regular basis according to policy and as requested, based on the set and agreed KPIs, targets and expected achievements, etc. 

§ Follow up on the delivery of projects’ milestones on time as planned, with high levels of accuracy and effectiveness. 

§ Monitor the development of the hospital expense budget and assures conformance with budgetary guidelines set by the strategic management. 

§ Participate in the development of all policies and procedures related to medical practices, quality & infection control measures, general policies for non-medical approaches; along with periodic evaluation of already running policies regarding effectiveness & compliance level and make sure each is aligned with the official governmental obligations. 

§ Plan for and ensure the appropriate utilization of medical & non-medical human resources through all hospital’s departments. 

§ Plan for and ensure the appropriate utilization of medical services & offers generated by the hospital to encourage customers’ action and high utilization levels along with improving the charge per visit subsequently.

 § Ensure providing the best medical service rendered to patients by regular monitoring for quality and appropriateness by overseeing documentation and care planning.

Operation Excellence Process: 

§ Encourage effectiveness of improvement per specialty by enlarging the profit earned from each physician and give directions to enlarge the number of accounts to each department concerned based on the historical data & behavior and Company’s strategy to increase the market share. 

§ Encourage building a stable, well trained and supportive manpower according to the plans.

 § Responsible for resolving all conflicts raised across all the hospital functions, and make sure each is settled according to policy and to the best interest of the hospital. § Take disciplinary actions -when needed- based on type of issue and according to hospital policy in guidance with Egyptian laws.

 § Responsible for managing all emergency issues and resolving according to criticality. 

§ Encourage efficiency improvement per specialty by converting part timers’ specialists to full timers.

 § Establish and foster effective working relationships with and between the various professional groups within the hospitals. 

§ Is engaged in the capacity building plan & activities for hospitals’ staff members and accountable for employees’ turnover rate. 

§ Is involved in the hospital physician and management recruitment processes. 

§ Support the IT team to ensure the business has robust and reliable IT systems. 

§ Assist in reducing the rate of mortality to the minimum by taking all the precautions and safety measures.

§ Attend the hospital meetings of (medical care, pharmacy, quality committee, operational, safety and infection control, PMS Sessions, reviews) to facilitate open channels of communication and aid in issue resolution.

 § Give the support needed for Andalusia Exclusive Doctors to enhance their performance, increase their volume and hospital’s services utilization and maintain Andalusia brand in all specialty subsequently. 

Customer Satisfaction Process:

§ Monitor the consistent high level of patients’ satisfaction in all hospital departments & sections; ER, Inpatient and ICU, OPD, etc. 

§ Retain patients by handling medical patient complaints while reducing the number of DAMA for medical and financial reasons.

 § Handle the complicated patients’ complaints regarding medical and non-medical concerns.

 § Ensure high level of patients’ & relatives’ satisfaction in all medical departments by ensuring applying ethical and correct medical practices to all patient. 

§ Make sure all patients and their relatives are aligned in the medical choices & procedures taken and consent with each. 

Innovation Process: 

§ Use change management skills to help hospital staff members to change the health care environment and all services provided. 

§ Participate in the activities of the community/corporate marketing when needed and seek out opportunities for integrating other health programs into the services of the hospital. 

§ Assist/Approve initiating new services and projects in order to generate high profitability levels by analyzing each idea and study its feasibility, expected ROI, tools availability, etc. to fit Andalusia culture and support its brand. 

§ Initiate new services and projects in order to generate a continuous revenue growth rate, while increasing the charge per visit per specialty. 

§ Encourage and support innovation of all physicians and medical staff members, using evidence based approaches applied in the health context.

 § Be aware of trends, issues and values that are shaping the future of medical service.

 § Encourage and support building successors on all management levels. 

§ Promote a climate and develop mechanisms which ensure constant upgrading of physicians’ skills. § Manage the strategic development and implementation of operational risk management.

Education

o Bachelor degree of Medicine & General Surgery

o PHD of medicine of an accredited university is required.

Experience

o 7-10 years of experience in medical managerial field in reputable enterprises of the same approach.

o Experience in a private hospital general management capacity and having a business management qualification, or have an accounting qualification with minimum of 5 years financial management experience in the private hospital industry

o Two years of full time direct patient care experience with increasing responsibilities
