Key Responsibility : 

Planning process: 

§ Scheduling and overseeing all maintenance-related work by managing a team of maintenance technicians and supervisors and directs daily operations of the department to ensure hospital maintenance needs are efficiently and effectively met for optimum patient safety and comfort. 

 § Plan and coordinate all maintenance activities in the facilities including analyzing equipment needs, reliability issues, developing preventive/predictive maintenance programs.

 § Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.

 § Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively. 

§ Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required

 § Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditure § Manage systems and equipment data storage and maintain high levels of standards and accuracy

 § Evaluates and recommends to Hospital Operational Manager for retention, dismissal, or addition of outside service contracts to stabilize or reduce operational expenses and provide high standards of quality service. 

Operation excellence process: 

§ Manage, coach and develop a high performing Maintenance team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements 

§ Develops, coordinates, monitors and administers preventative, corrective and scheduled maintenance programs as well as construction projects to ensure proper functional operation of physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and utility systems and grounds of the hospital in compliance with required standards. 

§ Coordinates maintenance projects, acting as liaison between Administration and contractors in minor projects and as a member of the Project Team in major projects. § Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors 

§ Actively monitors budget and evaluates expenditures on a regular basis. Initiates recommendations to ensure department is operating within budget. 

§ Optimizes the use of supplies, equipment, utilities and services ensuring high level of service. 

§ Ensure examining and assessing the new equipment to approve their usage. 

§ Attend the Daily operational meeting in which he/she will update the Operational team with the progress on the opened cases, new findings and his/her recommendations. 

§ Prepare work schedules and workload statistics; maintain an appropriate staffing level to ensure that the service and responsibilities of the department are provided in a timely and quality manner.

§ Manage the process of disposal of obsolete machinery, plant and equipment from gaining agreement to write off to physically removing it and its safe disposal. 

Customer satisfaction process:

§ Operates a customer responsive department at all times by clearly communicating project priorities and time frames to requesting departments and ensuring that the work order system is accurate, effective, and timely in meeting departmental requests.

§ Keeps updated with technology changes and updates in in order to improve operations and maintenance processes.

 § Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising safety, quality of care or services delivered. 

Education:

o bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering

Experience:

o 6 years of maintenance experience in a reputable Organization.

o 2 years in supervisory position.
